I saw on a cam. Even on the seafront. Laying snow on Hastings beach.

Nice one Daniel.  It's quite unusual for snow to be settling right on the beach at any time let alone this early in the winter.

I think roads will be absolutely fine. It is settling on the road only briefly.

sadly the roads aren’t the issue... it’s the drivers.

And there we go!   Tiny bit of snow and there’s a crash on the motorway.

snow isn’t the problem, drivers are.

Morning

Its an odd world when your living on the downs in rain @2.7c & its snowing on the beach at leysdown

In terms of track - ECM / Nailed this so congrats to those seeing snow.

Dare I say it 1-2cm in parts of suffolk this morning !

It is, hard to fathom - if it wasn’t so  early in the season, I’d be very disappointed missing out. We had rain here in Sevenoaks. Just rain.

Now snowing and just starting to settle here in Hadleigh, South Suffolk. Temp 0.9C. The area of snow (green) is swivelling and moving ever so slowly north.

Just has heavy rain/sleet here overnight at 190m asl up on the North Downs, but glad some in our region saw some snow last night further east in Kent and Essex, even at sea level.

Hi Ackkers. Would you mind popping your location into your profile, then we'll know where you are. Where was the pic taken? Looks good there. Ta.

Surprised to see the snow settling at all considering just how wet it was last night. Location just outside Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk.

Wet snow here in Ramsey at 2m below sea level, hopefully just the prawn cocktail in a Christmas feast of proper winter weather this year

First time in about two years that snow has settled on cars here in Herne Bay at sea level.

More chances next week for some frontal potentially?

Unfortunately dew points are well above what they need to be for any snowfall, even the N Kent Downs is struggling to see anything wintry, as largely expected. This is why it's important to look at the parameters rather than relying on the precip charts like some, it never looked favourable for us in the SE.

Just bringing this up. Whilst its good showing the 'now'

@Met4Cast

Just bringing this back up.

It just shows that the forecasts we looked at were correct & just using the 'now' as a representation of the whole night is incorrect.

The Harmonie high res had 4c Dewpoints over NW kent at 21c & a patch of 1c Dewpoints dewpoints developing at 4am hence the snow.

The reality is its forecast was about 30-50 miles to far West.

Folkstone for example went from 6c DP to 0C in 3 hours supported by evaporational cooling....

Nothing here in north London. It looks like the band is pivoting away from us. Good to see others further out in Essex and Suffolk currently getting some snow.
