Latest Arpege out now. I mean...how can a run differ so much when the conditions that it's trying to model are literally happening at this very point.

32.3mm of rain here today, most of that this evening. Currently 7.7c, DP is 7.2c

A lot cooler to the west though!

A fair nudge west by UKV over last 24hrs of 3 hourly runs.

This is current 18z run for 3am tonight

This is yesterday's 18z run for 3am tonight.

GFS also been edging west over subsequent runs. While EC been edging east, but maybe a tad too far east

Goes to show models don't handle frontal waves too well.

Here in Ashtead (near Epsom), we dropped to 3.6c, then went back up, then went down to 3.9c again and now it's started raining and gone back up to 4.5c!! Possible sleet in the early hours but other than that, not expecting much.... but will be checking local hills in the morning, just in case!!

UKV suggests widespread transition 2am.

With 40mins to go its plain old rain across the region according to netweather radar currently temps 4.8c here way too high sleet at best here by rush hour oh well it's only way December

Unfortunately dew points are well above what they need to be for any snowfall, even the N Kent Downs is struggling to see anything wintry, as largely expected. This is why it's important to look at the parameters rather than relying on the precip charts like some, it never looked favourable for us in the SE.

Any chance the temps and dew points will lower as the BBC and Met apps do show this by the rush hour?

Well dew point has began falling I don’t hold out much hope here not that I did in first place, but nice to hear other reports of it turning to snow within last hour.
