From holiday home in the valley below Blencathra, Lake District. Temp currently is 15.8c. 11mm of rain since midnight. Maximum gust of 33mph from the SW and pressure is currently 985.78mb and falling slowly. Torrential rain at times with very strong winds and the occasional rainbow. Not a day for being on the tops.

Mostly cloudy with sunny spells and a strong southerly wind. Warm overnight again with a min of 15.6C and a high of 22.7C so far.

The max gust so far has been 51mph which has smashed the previous high gust of 42mph set in August 2002. Its also beaten the highest summer gust Ive ever recorded of 45mph and that was last month!

A blustery day but not to bad max gust 34 mph and no twigs broke off the trees. A few short heavy showers and a cooler afternoon.
