Sunny Sheffield down to 15.2C, +0.3C above normal. Rainfall 8.6mm 13.1% of the monthly average

Local forecast indicate a slow steady drop although they tend to get the temperatures too low and on the day it's a good two degrees higher or more

Sunny Sheffield down to 15.1C +0.3C above average. Rainfall unchanged.

The change to colder weather delayed by a day and we may get a slight rise in the next few days but this depends on how long the north sea cloud hangs around in the morning.

Sunny Sheffield at 15C +0.3C above normal. Rainfall unchanged.

Just managed to get a job due to the day time max being low enough. Today was a mild start so I'm expecting a rise for today if the sun gets through the cloud.

EWP has been stuck on 13 mm for days, but is forecast to gain about 30 mm to end of month, with a significant rainfall predicted for the last day of the month, so some uncertainty but likely to finish 40-50 mm, could go as high as 60.

The EWP from 9.5 day GFS estimate would be near 40 mm (grid average 27 on top of current 13). The grid has its lowest values in central England with higher values all around the grid towards the margins. Also about 5-10 mm appears to be projected for the time period 00z to 12z October first, which can be considered an uncertainty factor as timing over ten days can shift by at least one day. Values between 35 and 50 mm are probably equally favoured at this point and those represent the lowest predictions we have. My estimate is that the CET will fall to around 14.7 for a finishing value.

Sunny Sheffield still at 15C +0.4C above normal. Rainfall 8.6mm  13.1% of the monthly average.

Todays warmness will be offset by the cold start so little if any change for tomorrow. Then it turns a lot colder but still relatively dry here So although not the driest September looking like it will end up in the top ten.

Rainfall amounts for rest if the month will vary markedly. NW parts will see quite a bit, further south and east less rain, so a fairly dry month likely for many central, south and east parts. Probably closer to average further north and west, drier than June, July and August. Yet again the weather picks up in September ; becoming the norm now. April, May and September most likely to bring sustained dry conditions in the north and west.

Temperatures dropping a stone after tomorrow, a finish in the 14s will happen, perhaps mid 14s best bet.

CET about to take a nosedive, still a week to go, and if we see a 0.2 degree reduction day on day, possible, then a 1 degree drop could occur by months end. Finishing mark most likely to be in the mid-high 14s.

Sunny Sheffield down to 14.9C, +0.5C above normal. Rainfall 16.2mm 24.8% of the monthly average.

Looking at the local forecast for temperatures suggest we will finish on 13.9C just slightly above the normal so basically average. So for our landing zone going to 13.5C to 14C at the moment.

EWP has probably passed 30 mm and shows a grid average of about 15 mm to end of month, despite some very heavy falls expected in east Anglia (locally 70 mm), as many central regions will stay fairly dry. Some uncertainty left but 40-50 mm seems most likely landing point.

For the CET would say the coming decline will halt around 14.6 or 14.7. Adjustments ???

Should be in the 14s by end of the week (Sunday), and further fall thereafter, my reckoning final figure taking account of any downward correction 14.5 degrees, only a little above the 61-90 average, and very near normal against more recent means.

Sunny Sheffield down to 14.7C +0.4C above average. Rainfall 21.5mm 32.9% of the monthly total.

Now up the 6th driest month on average we will fall out of the top ten.

With the cool final third do we have a provisional CET for this final third and when it is the coolest since.
