I think Divine came out around 1984. His music is terrible and the bad side of camp 80s.

There isn’t any decent british sounding British groups now. It’s all about drill music, or boring musicians from east London who speak multicultural London english.

essentially, britpop. Thats what the kinks, who, small faces etc were producing in the 60's, the Jam and Madness etc in the late 70's early 80's, long before blur oasis etc defined british guitar based pop as "britpop". I guess the artic monkeys have been the closest in recent times... but theres nothing regarding ordinary british lives. Grime is dreadful, negative, and is something i cannot like or appreciate. I believe peoples tastes nowdays are more political in their choice rather then emotional. They "like" them because they are supposed to... (what i mean by political)

I’m not a Stones fan, but this one always makes me stop and listen.

Emotional Rescue is another one I quite like.

Both wrong.

It was September 1981.

nope,  YOU are wrong, it was released in September 1980  not only according to my memory, but according to the record collector magazine rare record catalogue and the guiness book of british hit singles.

It was released very end November 1978, and peaked at no 3 I think end Dec 78 into Jan 79.

What? I thought we were discussing Rolling Stones ‘start me up’ which was released in September 1981 as a UK single. It may have been recorded in 1980, but it’s a 1981 hit.
