Stonking day for storms. Had two cells with continuous thunder [but mostly no visible lightning again]. Here's some pictures of one storm that I tracked as it progressed up the M11 which produced some

Didn’t know we was expecting an avalanche today 🤔

Am enjoying a weekend away 60 miles S of Prague in the pretty town of Písek, the storm front that came in this evening was dramatic!

My lightning detector just beeped. Must be the storm to the north of here, near Peterborough.

I always seem to get these features off heavy, SB-based showers moving east.

It must be something to do with the sea interacting with the shower maybe?

I've seen a good amount of shelf clouds preceding heavy showers/cold fronts here.

Got some quite viciously gusty showers coming in from the Irish Sea.  Nice torrential heavy rain in them, and pretty certain I've seen the odd few tiny hail stone's pinging off of the car roof.

No hail across the border here in South Cheshire, just constant, miserable wet showers of rain, with a cold NW wind. Sod it!

Was only in the first couple that passed and they were tiny, (about half the size of a petti poi pea, melted within 10/15 secs or so).  Now it's just torrential freezingly cold rain showers zooming by and a freezing cold wind coming from the NW.

In the middle of it all here, things starting to ramp up near London though.

Decent cell developing near Braintree & probably ready to produce sferics any minute.

Words cannot describe how dark it is to my east. It literally looks like the end of the world.

Will upload pictures soon.
