Foggy here right up to the rain arriving . No heating here, sadly!

None here either but it's early season only about another month to go and then the heating will become apparent.

Day 1 Convective Outlook

VALID 06:00 UTC Thu 11 Mar 2021 - 05:59 UTC Fri 12 Mar 2021

ISSUED 09:00 UTC Thu 11 Mar 2021

ISSUED BY: Dan

An upper trough axis and associated cold pool will migrate eastwards across Britain and Ireland on Thursday daytime, creating an environment with steep mid-level lapse rates and few hundred J/kg CAPE. Numerous showers will develop over seas initially, moving well-inland on the strong westerly steering winds but also reinforced by diurnal heating inland also. Some modest shear may aid updraft/downdraft separation and maintain longevity of some cells. As such, there will likely be some sporadic lightning in places, although pinpointing specific areas in this setup is rather challenging. The risk overall is considered 15-20%, so not quite active enough to warrant a SLGT. Gusty winds and hail will likely accompany many of the showers, which may be rather squally at times.

Just now?

If so, then all eyes to my west.

Just the one rumble of thunder close-by here so far accompanied by a brief flurry of hail lasting for a minute, the thunder coming from the north towards the New Mills/Hayfield direction.

Just had a pretty decent hail shower (with no thunder). Here's a timelapse of it rolling in:

My sentiments exactly.  Hoping for a busy season on this thread, looking forward to the usual great posts, vids and photos nationwide.  Hopefully no one left in the no storms club.

I’ve got one here, albeit a bit delayed. The early hours of the 21st August when that fast moving MCS with supercells formed out over the North Sea, and was visible for hundreds of miles. Zak managed to capture it from Bedford! Took this from Market Deeping in the middle of the countryside.

Love these PM spring showery days, especially when you live next to the sea.

Beautiful mammatus structures on many of the anvils I've seen going past today.

Lack of lightning but good to see the lively active nature of things again!

I'll link to one of my favourite WW shots from the local area.

Thunder just now from a potent cell as it cleared away to the east. First thunder day of the year. I like living in East Merseyside. A lot of hail in that cell.

That was a brilliant clip, always watch your timelapse, but the section at lunch time12-1.30 where the low level clouds are coming straight at you, and the high level clouds are moving left tonight was very interesting.....would love to see a Sat image run for that period.
