Well then it well and truly did chucked it down, along with some really really gusty winds, roads became a bit of a torrent along with some car alarms being set off.

Hi all,finally joined after looking at the storm threads for a while. Currently in Hassocks West Sussex and the squall line is well and truly here! Wind gusts to at least 50mph and torrential rain!!!

Currently on Bexhill beach, on the bulverhythe link path. Wind is definitely gale force now, hard to stand up properly!

Heaviest rain of the evening now. Quite a bit heavier than when the squall line went through earlier.

Cheers All seasons and thanks for the link,shoreham is closest to me and showing 51mph gusts currently but has ramped back down a bit here now.

Look at this potential hook over Brighton ~30 mins ago. 

There were some very powerful gusts of wind around this time, and torrential rain. (which is still going)

Just the other side of the downs in Hassocks and it was very lively here about that time with sideways rain!

Some new line echos starting to form just off the Sussex coast and possibly a bowing line to the north east of the Channel Islands.
