@Alderc Bournemouth storm shield must've fallen now aye;)

Well that was the oddest weather experience of my life. Low level moisture only 100-200ft of the ground was screaming in from the south east towards the incoming storm from the west. The low level cloud and drizzle sheltered the surface from the constant high level IC lightning, you could just here the faintest of continuous rumblings. Then as the exceptionally heavy rain approached from the south west you could hear the thunder getting louder almost like flip in the wind direction (which was violent) removed the sound-proofing. As @Mapantzsaid some incredible rainfall rates. So much low level shear going on would not be surprised to hear of tornadic damage.

Lots of refracted light in the rain core as it approached Poole. The sun was out shortly after it passed. Heard one rumble of thunder, good deluge though!

How about that for a radar image!

The break in the line convection went right overhead, wind flipped 180degrees.

Some decent cracks of thunder here at the moment, really picking up just west of town.

Not sure this’ll work for everyone but this was the rain just now.

Torrential rain for the past 5 minutes, quite a lot of surface water and our driveway is 'flooded' thanks to overflowing gutters we have at the front! A few rumbles and flashes earlier, seems to be brightening up now a bit as the rain pulls away

I can say I think that was a Tornado that ripped through Poole was on the fly over and Trees down in Upton country park. Clouds were traveling in total opposite directions never seen the likes of it!

Despite the fact the thunder stopped before it arrived that was the heaviest rain I’ve seen for a long time. And now the kitchens flooded :help:

Bright  bright lightning here. Don't often see it light up the sky so well in daytime hours.  Thunder too, of course .

Of all the days we've had this summer, I'd have not put money on a storm today!

But if thunder was the primary threat they’d probably just issued a rain warning for ‘thundery rain’ plus thunder isn’t really a threat to anyone it’s just sound

I beg to differ, a lot of people do not like loud noises.
