The rainfall ahead of that squall (if that's what it'd be classed as) is heading more NE. If the squall follows that pattern then I could get an unexpected little thundery treat later

Looks that way!

Absolutely incredible rainfall here

Mad. You've shot up from 5.4 mm to 21.8 mm within a minute.

In all the years I have lived here, that was genuinely the heaviest rain I have ever seen. 411 mm/hr rain rate.

Very surprised to see the amount of lightning activity on blitzortung - all heading east which is great but (typical for this year so far) will head to my south. Will look forward to looking out for it though

@Paul Sherman might be in the game later, there's a thought

steady rain here but to the north there are some heavy showers developing that might provide an sferic or two.

Hearing the odd rumble from the west. Surprised I can’t here more actually considering it’s not that far away.

Maybe the torrential rain is drowning the audible thunder out!

That was weird, normal rain rates here, nothing stormy to speak of, and then suddenly a cloud-cloud lightning strike above my head!

Wasn't expecting that, thought we were way too far north of the action.
