No thunder heard, just some very heavy rain.

Another abysmal storm season here begins to draw to a close. We seem to be back in the 2007-2012 era for storms in my location. I’m not going to pin any hope on September delivering any goods - I seem to see more lightning in December than July/August these days.

Torrential downpour earlier in Leighton Buzzard and just had another short sharp shower that produced a really bright double rainbow although the pics dont do it justice.

Must be a fair bit of DLS today, that thing just keeps on backbuilding and is sustaining itself pretty well. This was only with 300-500j/kg CAPE and its by far the best storm I’ve seen throughout these past two weeks!

Can easily see it from Chesterfield as well. Looking at the satellite there is nothing in between here and the storm to suggest it is another storm or whatever in between

There was a better opportunity around 30 minutes ago where it looked like a line of huge Cauliflowers, but there were a load of kids player football and I would have looked dodgy taking pictures lol

I wish it was around 10pm would of been an great lightning show

It was amazing seeing it develop. Definite rotation on it towards the updraft area. Then I’ve only just stopped hearing the continuous roaring that it produced, almost as soon as it passed E of here.

We can still here it rumbling here. Didn't get any lightning where we are but we got the edge of it. The rainfall look crazy in the middle of it. I'm waiting to her from my mum about 4 miles from ours as the centre of the storm passed over there's

Timelapse of the developing thunderstorms on the 11th August last week including that Oxford cell.

I've got plenty of more videos to edit so watch this space
