I am not sure if this has been mentioned already, but a very intense cell seems to be training or has stalled in East London. It looks like a quite a flooding risk and the radar loop is a bit reminiscent to me of Boscastle in 2004

Sun is out and I can see a cumulonimbus to my east, probably the one near Thetford.

Same place as yesterday by looks of it too, (or possibly a few mile further NW) but definitely not what they probably want again...

Yeah, that area is overlapping with the area of 100mm+ estimated by radar, it's definitely not often you get this type of rain event in the UK.

Raining here in bexhill after the wind picked up and I think I picked up one distant stunted rumble.

Still much claggyness here but the Calais to Lille line looks good.

I'll be watching for anything firing in the south North sea as the trough moves up, signs of this possible.

SB still on the cards for anywhere that has decent cloud breaks.

It’s a strange week, there have been storms where the rain wasn’t being picked up because of low level evaporation, loads of misleading anaprops, elevated storms evading radar and all sorts of other anomalies. Weather isn’t ever straightforward!

I’ve learned a lot in the last 7 days - most importantly that nowcasting and real-world obs are essential!

couldn't agree with you more there!  Weather has just been this last week . Coming or going storms or no storms  only thing for sure it was damned OT and Umid!

Well the rain on radar over Dover isn't hitting the ground yet. Hopefully soon.

Its reaching at last now.

Got a feeling that it will go bang here soon, feels much warmer and I am surrounded by massive cumulus towers every direction I look.

Frequent heavy downpours here in Leicester. Nothing thundery however I’m surprised of its intensity as there’s been no sun at all here today. Full dull but something is fuelling them?
