Hope the hills round here perk it up lol. Looks grey towards your way atm.

Yep, there is now a second cell as part of the line east of Shrewsbury now still producing regular thunder so its evolving all the time.

Yeah it seems to have perked up round Oswestry. Skies black in the distance and just heard first boom of thunder

Can see some really large towers going up to my south through the hazy muck.  We also seem to be under some really high level, icy anvil crud that looks like it's being blown towards us from the mass of storms to the SW.  Temps also seem to have stalled around 27/28C.

That Snowdonia storm is getting very little attention on here. It looks incredibly active. You watch it go to the Isle of Man and give them their third big thunderstorm of the season!

Nothing came bar thicker cloud unfortunately however we are at least in the more unstable region now where one hopes for more meaningful development.

Most convective it’s looked here today. A few spots of rain from this.

Strike over Brest...still broadly in line with the Western activity so probably not of much relevance to us shrivelling prunes further east. An interesting development none the less.

Met Office seems to have issued an additional warning valid from 16:00 for north west England.

Haha nice one!!

Heard lots of thunder so far but seen no lightning as yet.  Nice little surprise though given how things have been looking on the forecasts.

Just 1 bolt of lightning please gods, I'm not asking for much am I...

Its caused flooding in Aberystwyth on its way up the coast.

Streets have been flooded in Aberystwyth and New Quay sees over 100 lightning strikes in an hour.

Very tropical feeling and many little towers going up all around right next to the CB I'm almost under. Lovely stuff.

I know everything's a supercell to us overexcitable storm nerds, so let me be the first.

I see a cheeky hook echo, and it seems to have broken off from the NNW flow to NNE.

A storm spotter report from the ground (my Mum) say it's the biggest storm she's seen in years. What do we think?

Are these the severe storms modelled in the midlands? Or will that be a bit later tonight?

I think so , convective weather and met office had storms firing from afternoon moving N/NW and clearing on in the evening but speed of these things could mean that's it or vice versa or more could keep going a few miles from you all evening pretty hard to judge but the cap did seem to go where it was expected

Well underwhelmed is an understatement at the moment, nothing of any real interest showing yet on radar. Maybe something forming in Northern France at the moment but no activity yet.
