It's not a great image, but I stacked the lightning for each day from the 11th until today:

focusstackingonline_com.thumb.png.dcb1fda337683d781dcdb977eaef8286.png

The SOR down the bottom..

Thank you for this, and confirms we have had barely any storms at all. Had one very loud half hour storm last night and lighting but only half hour. That has been it over the last week.  Had so many warnings severe red warnings too but all turned to nothing.Im just west of Wells in Frome. Last years there was an exceptional violent storm stream only 5-6 miles wide and 30-40 miles long . cant win em all and have to take them when they are there.

I am happy for all that got big storms this time round which seems like most did, so well done. Great feeling isnt it when they arrive. such a buzz.

Where can one buy a H.A.A.R.P. to attract all these storms to Norfolk? Asking for a friend...

Give me a tenner & I send you my broken one.

H.A.A.R.P at its finest. Severe weather inbound? Millions of pounds worth of damage. Turn the  North sea low mist on for a few days. And alter the course of thunderstorms.  Sorry i know its a conspiracy. And not Really related to this thread. However over the past years. Storms have reduced massively. And it just does not seem to co incide with rising temperatures

Did you know that there is H.A.A.R.P in north wales ??????? they “shut it down” late 2014 when it was seen as a weapon and classed as a danger to the environment worldwide.

The study’s that go on in this organisation are in the ionosphere. Where storms take place. Theres categoric evidence thats shows they can manipulate weather patterns, and produce artificial lightning with extremely low frequencys. It was supposedly used in a war when it was first discovered to distract the enemy. Really interesting stuff.

Going back to wales. Just say if they hadn’t closed it down fully for whatever reason. And was still operating. All the storms that tracked north in W wales over a number of days. This H.A.A.R.Pcould be used to essentially draw thunderstorms towards it. Therefore being a much less impact because theres more drain away and its not densely populated (forecast more E especially to affect London, which is densely populated, and easily affected by flash floods)

Just something for you guys to research more

If you really think about it. Met office is an abbreviation ( Met.Gov) meaning its government ran. Surely if they predict severe weather, with floods and winds that could potentially cost M’s of damage, and they have a tool to stop that. You really think they wont use it.

Brilliant post, i have looked in to this too over the years, great post.

I think that's the first time for a week that there have been zero strikes over the UK...especially at this time of night.

Sat on the front of the boat in a lovely cool breeze, low humidity.....and no need to water plants until tommorow.

weds eve, my mate and his brother were anchored off porthcawl as they missed the tidal gate to get over the cill into the marina, so had to anchor all night, so they had a lovely view of the storms from his yacht. as we were talking about it.

Leigh On Sea and SE Essex should cop a biggun tomorrow as I am away for the weekend on the Norfolk Broads (Sorry Norfolk Folk) my shield comes with me.

But the Arome is interesting for North and East Norfolk in the early hours of Sunday with some storms drifting up the coast, will take my camera just in case

Good luck to the rest of you over the weekend

Enjoy your trip Paul - but I hope your first sentence is accurate!

So, took a while editing this and cutting down over 7 minutes of footage into 3 mins. Yesterday's relentless rainfall and great lightning in south Bucks/Berks. WARNING: Foul Language Uncensored.

Luckily - the very last lightning flash I filmed last night while driving was unbelievably the only flash I have got a freeze-frame bolt out of. None of the others dozens of flashes slowed down showed one!

Brilliant and thank you!

I happen to know the unfortunate Swedish scientist whose rushed and tired write-up of his organisations aircraft pollution research caused the Haarps conspiracy. He sees the funny side of it now.

There was never a conspiracy. It was genuine but badly written research, that was swept up by some very naughty journalists looking for a story. Can't tell you his name as he's a mega-corporation director now and it's up to him to tell his story.

Weather warnings are going well.

Not.

Anyone awake at the Met Office? Or is their Yellow Blob left across the South just because it looks nice?

I quote their latest Reigate forecast:

"This Evening and Tonight:

Heavy showers and thunderstorms are expected to continue through the evening and overnight, Generally overcast through much of the night, especially toward the east coast. Feeling warm and humid. Minimum temperature 16 °C."

I'll go and stand under our metal pergola...perhaps that will get things going!

Odd isn't it. My local forecasts is pretty much the same and it was updated at 4pm, if anything it sounded more severe than the morning update. I was reading it, checking the radar, checking the temps, checking lightening sites and thinking really met office are you sure about that? It seemed obvious by then that the cloud hadn't cleared preventing temps from rising, I was forecast 25 it made 20, preventing convergence which prevented convection, preventing storms from forming. Ok not as simple as that but you get the idea. I guess they were let down by whatever models they were using or relying on them too much. I'm not particularly having a dig at the met office, I think they do a fantastic job most of the time, but this forecast was wrong before it was written.

Of course I shall take it all back if I'm woken by a massive storm at 3 in the morning.

I must come clean - used to live next door to the grad student who caused this ‘conspiracy’...

He was doing an innocuous weather control experiment, and they went down the pub that night but journalists overheard him talking about it to his gran on the sh***er. They misconstrued the bit where he caused the 1952 Lynmouth disaster (it was actually ‘just a series of mismanaged puddles’).

The next day they did an experiment that involved seeding the atmosphere with a totally fine and inert chemical, just to see how much fun it would be. That night they went down the pub and he rang his gran again as he was laying a cable. The journo’s happened to be urinating at the time. Unfortunately they misconstrued the bit about that these chemicals caused the 1987 UK Hurricane (it was actually ‘just a very strong series of gusts’)

Night 3 they performed a tiny experiment to transmit low frequencies into the low level atmosphere to ‘scare some wasps away’. At the pub that night he had to release some food hostages, during which he was on the blower to his nan and he accidentally mentioned about the Great Southern Storm Drought of August 2020. Some hacks - draining their lizards in the cubicals next to him - must have misconstrued this (the whole thing was actually just a big elaborate wind up by Netweather) ... and the rest is history.

He can see the funny side now - but unfortunately he’s since become the owner of a well-known river-themed online shopping and media corporation (I can’t tell you which) but he isn’t able to comment and dispel the rumours.

As interesting as the HAARP posts are, I just cannot believe anyone has any power at all to control the weather. It will do what it does, and does not care about anything or anyone in its path. What we have done however is built over the years in suitable locations that tend to see the better weather on average and away from any disaster prone areas as best as possible! If there is a risk, then it has had years of thought and investment by engineers, architects and specialists to mitigate risks, I.e installation of lightning conductors, levees, stilts, and many other special designs.

I liked the part of ‘turning on North Sea mist’, which by the way, has been happening for thousands of years every summer. It’s simple science, if warm/hot air passes over cooler water, you get advection fog, you can even create this by breathing over your ice cold pint!

Now that is funny!     Thanks for the chuckle!  Urinating journos...lol

I know my Swedish friend's history. No lizards required in his, and he's the real deal. Folks can enjoy the tale, or leave it.  No problem, doesn't bother me!

One day I'll tell you about the Soviet tank he bought in Ukraine...

Meanwhile, let's hope Saturday and Sunday bring us some weather action!!

Whilst we have a brief lull in thunderstorm activity I am going to start a new thread shortly, this one is getting very long.
