Certainly not showing signs of dieing yet. More like reinvigorating inland.

The Gloucestershire cells look the best at the moment from the main MCS. Then there's the storm exiting SW England and heading for SE Ireland which looks very strong on radar.

Good on you! I used to be terrified of storms as well - I pretty much hid away from the best overnight storms the 90s had to offer. Over the years my fear/fascination ratio has tipped in the balance of fascination, to the point when I'm actively seeking them out. I hope it gradually does for you as well.

Same here! From clinging to my mum's legs in fear during a storm as a toddler, to storm chasing in my 30s! I think the fear can definitely evolve into a love/fascination/respect as you grow up.

Fellow Pilot of mine had this going off wild today on the aircraft we fly.  Looks fun. At least I know it works for when I fly...

So do you ever take pictures of storms cells while you're up there, or would that be tricky with turbulence?

Worst, I hate them but to get over a  fear I have spent all week watching weather maps and tracking them. And I can honestly say they aint that bad, I survived last night and tonight so I'm doing well

As a child i was petrified of storms, but the fascination took over as i got older, the buzz from storms has changed from fear to excitement as the years have gone on! I am 36 + 6 now , and now love watching storms, hence you end up on Netweather

Anyone else staying up all night?

Probably. But not by choice, by heat.

Looks like it's over here in Wolverhampton, no sign of a wake up, not a bad storm, yesterday's was more dramatic for the eyes.

According to this 50% chance of a storm later... hmm doubtful but shall keep a watch out given more storms are still developing

Also surprised how this has pepped up a fair bit

Cells around the Bristol area producing semi frequent c/c lightning but little in the way of thunder.

Getting closer......more frequent, much brighter elevated lightning. We’ve had light to moderate fat raindrops for the last 2 hours.

After our non stop  5 hour pyrotechnics on Monday I’m happy if this is all we get!

Exactly the same here! When I was at primary school, we had a severe day time storm that came on so suddenly the kids at the neighbouring school were caught outside and struck. I went through a long period of fear, but having kids had to disguise it or conquer it. I'm now captivated by them

How long you reckon before we have an idea of wether it rolls our way or not?

I am phobic to loud noise; always have been. Which is why I watch storms so I know when the noise is going to happen. And I love the lightning show because of it!

Same with fireworks.

Same here, people don't understand why I'm scared of the noise, rather than the lightning. I don't like fireworks either.

Not too long now, it’s kind of the deciding moment when it either leaves the coast or continues tracking inland over France.

I’m hoping with every fibre of my being that it leaves the coast and Heads this way, as we deserve a good MCS/light show after the heat we have endured!!

Damp squib here compared to last night...but saying that, it would take something out of this world to beat last night's offerings!

I have done, but the airspace around London is fairly difficult to avoid these things. If I had an instrument rating, then yes you get on top of the scud and would get some great views of them.

I did this flight on last years' storms, was interesting.

As you can see, you've got to be very very careful.  You could run into a cell.  I hope in the EU we soon get ADSB Datalink for weather downloads.

However there's this video of me flying through some interesting weather, later to become TSRA.

Netweather gave me an 80% chance for a storm today, and then decreased it to 14% the hour after.

I have another day of a 77% chance for a storm according to it, but I don't have any high hopes.
