Pop once again across the usual areas with the chances in the SE being crushed as the storms decay as soon as they hit inland so a distant light show here in the SE but elsewhere in the Midlands/Wales it's another good one.

Current weather in S Bucks:

32.6 Celsius

43% humidity

It is about 1 degree hotter, earlier, than yesterday, and slightly more humid. Oppressive.

You were talking about lift off.

You can see the Cu on Satellite running up London to Brum in the 'usual' strip but then more broadly central Wales over to the east of Birmingham. I'd fancy just north of Birmingham if I had to pick a spot.

I've just been looking at Arome, and I notice the Reigate local high pressure dome at work! All the forecasts neatly skip over the Reigate area. Hmmmm.

Meanwhile, the blue skies have acquired some cloud but, once again, it's capped mid-level stuff that achieving nothing other than turning heat into broil.

What a ridiculous argument. If people weren't allowed to enjoy things because of freak incidents then we'd never be allowed to enjoy anything. For example; please change your profile picture. It may be offensive to the family of Hillsborough victims.

Wha? Are you being serious? Who ever said that we can't enjoy a good thunderstorm?

Just to let you all know it's 34c in the death valley incubator of storms. Still perfect blue skies and not a breeze. RH up a tad on yesterday at 40%. I expect we are doing the usual job of preparing the cocktail for everyone to the north and west of here whilst sweating our tits off. You'd better all be grateful

What's SOR, COD, TOD ?

You must only be a rare visitor to this thread to ask that!

They are running jokes that are now becoming serious business. Basically areas that are now beyond storm-starved.

COS and TOD (Cone of Silence and Triangle of Doom) are SE Essex/Suffolk @Paul Sherman  - will be able to confirm exact areas involved.

SOR (Shield of Resistance) is a newer one and it's basically central south (Hants, Dorset, Sussex, south coast in general). I'm inside the SOR, hence I haven't seen a single proper thunderstorm all year!
