Though there might be a few people, especially those involved in the Scottish train-derailment, who'd disagree with you?🤔

What a ridiculous argument. If people weren't allowed to enjoy things because of freak incidents then we'd never be allowed to enjoy anything. For example; please change your profile picture. It may be offensive to the family of Hillsborough victims.

My first attempt at storm shots 🤷‍♂️ (Please don't judge 🤣) The cells are impressive tonight!

Well AROME has showers breaking out widely in the next 20mins from the midlands northwards. Only one shower currently but signs on Satellite a Cu field is starting to form.

Well, of course they are... it's the same everywhere. But, sometimes (Lynmouth and Boscastle) storms can cause real problems...

Hence the word "most" in my original post. I really don't see the issue?

I think it's fair to say when it's all been said and done that the only area this week that wasn't effected by thundery weather was the NE of England....which begs the question, why did I agree to move up here ?... 🤣

28/06/12

01/07/15

How has EC done over the last couple of days with storms??? Because if it’s been good then there’s a lot of opportunity yet for the southeast

Better than UKV! For example, it got the storms over Wales and the Midlands the last couple of nights spot on. It also had sporadic isolated storms in central-southern England yesterday.

It's tricky to make a comparison as the UKV is a mesoscale model while the EC is a global model, but even so it has done reasonably well.

Can anyone recall any previous occasion where Scotland has had an amber warning for thunderstorms? I'm not talking about an amber for flooding from thunderstorms. IIRC, the wording was for the thunderstorms themselves.

Just popped to the greenhouse to water the tomatoes, it’s blooming hot out there, but I did see quite a bit of accas up in the sky

Maybe, just maybe there’s a slim chance. I’ll take anything at this point!

I am in 2 minds to start heading off to welsh border near ross on wye, looking at AROME majority seem to pass me to the west or to the north east.

I would wait until you see the cloud form for the convergence zone and then position north of it by say 50-100 miles.
