Looks to me that way off to my west might develop something soon. Lots of elevated instability seems to be forming amid the haze. Overhead it’s clear blue skies and I’m feeling increasingly sticky (and somewhat dispondent).

Infrared video shows the anvil travelling over much of N Wales & Midlands not necessarily the actual storm. Steering flow at 300hpa is a direct southerly so anvil will move north ahead of the storms moving NW.

may have been taken over by the french and will only issue warnings to Britain if they get access to fishing grounds

if it's not that then i don't know

There aren't any warnings for the entirety of Europe. A little on the edge of the political spectrum there..

Like the way there's nothing for hours then bang. It explodes out on such a short time frame. It seems if you draw a line between the Wash and NW London then across to the Bristol Channel then anywhere NW of that line is in prime zone. The poor old SE corner and far S miss out

Just starting to notice a bubbling cumulus field on the satellite over London.

Estofex is volunteer run. If no one is about, they dont issue anything.

Keep an eye on for a Torro warning.

With the storm warnings out and the heat and cape values etc etc surprised to see no storms over the UK at the moment. Maybe it’s the calm before the big storms that’ll erupt everywhere later? ?‍♂️

View East.  A bit hazy, alas.  Convection over Pennines beyond Burnley.  Plus some floccus high up amongst nearer cloud.  Which way is this lot going?

Yesterday up until 9pm there were 2 small storms over Central England,.. a huge storm moving North across Wales,.
and lightning strikes dotted around Edinburgh all day,.

People were saying .. what a disappointing day...... and then formed and erupted a huge storm North of Hereford,. that slowly Trundled  and changed shape.. all the way to Crewe ,. and then to the North East

today looks far more positive earlier in the day,. but even if it's not keep up the hope,. it could be another booming night.

30.5 here and climbing, as this is clearly a rather special week in weather terms, I'm gonna bite the bullet and chase this evening

The last time I remember a hotter August day in Plymouth was back in 1990. Its horrendous here. Surely it's going to go bang
