I will take as much as I can get here I will not feel sorry for making the most of it as we just had 15 years up here with hardly anything at all so if it is our turn then I am extremely happy about it. The analogy of the reds winning the Premier League after 30 years fits well. What a year.

That's how it should be. It's great to see people enthused when they see some storm action. The reports and pictures/videos bring some cheer for those who are missing out.

It does look grim for us in Kent, today, I must admit. Still, 06z will give better guidance.

Certainly doesn’t bring me any cheer! Reading this thread is like a punch to the gut. There’s nothing fun about watching other places getting all the exciting weather if we’re being completely honest.

well Dan from convective weather forecasts something like that will happen moving west across Wales , so no real surprise at that

Was just wondering that. Maybe they're just a bit behind today.

Don't worry guy's, all the charts are showing the activity for my location - it will not pan out like that, never does. Places further East, North & South are in for a better shout.

MetOffice radar predictor has storms initiating in W Kent regions mid to late afternoon, moving WNW. Hence why I am JUST inside the yellow warning. This really is getting soul destroying at the moment, 6th consecutive day of 30C+ temperatures and humidity and yet storms appear to be missing here (although keeping small level of optimism for this afternoon/early evening).

As for what happens tonight models appear to be at odds so I’m not ruling out the possibility of something overnight...tomorrow looks better but I’m literally in meetings all day which is super harsh

Just cos you're not in the met office yellow, doesn't mean you won't see a storm.

July 2014 is a prime example. of this for me in Worthing. No storm forecast, ended up taking a beating, and was one of the best storms I'll ever witness.

I would say that today feels the most thundery so far. While the skies are completely cloudless, it feels much more humid and there is that unmistakable dusty haze to the horizon.

Based on what I’m observing/feeling it is definitely our best opportunity day in the SE despite what the models indicate...and my HIIT class has been cancelled for this evening too which I hope is a good omen.

You've got nice and lucky then. We in Scunthorpe developed that storm for you. Just started to unleash its rain and lightning AFTER it had passed to the north of us

Yep completely right however given the run of bad luck this year I’m not optimistic. I hope I’m surprised though
