The RAF crew in Ascot 467 should be getting a cracking view on the way home to Brize Norton

I just heard that flying over and wondered what mega view they would be having watching the storms.

I’ve got my eye out! That would be madness. How rare would that be for the U.K.!

Probably be in the first 3-5 people I would imagine with a shot. Storms need to be of a certain power to generate Sprites I believe.

I know Paul Smith gets them in the USA shooting north from Oklahoma into Storms in Northern Kansas which are 100-150 miles away

My good friend Marko Korosev also has shot a lot in Eastern Europe from storms a good 100 miles away

Strange how I’ve seen about 5 shooting stars in 30 minutes!

Honestly mad how far I can see the regular flashing from. The average Joe would ever believe me if I said that flashing was from a storm in staffordshire/Cheshire!

Okay I am genuinely scared right now, I'm sandwiched in between a storm to the West and the South, never seen lightning this frequent before

Would you say the cells in the channel are worth staying up for? 🙂 wish I saw a shooting star

I can just about see some flashes to my north, only once every couple of minutes though. Bit surprised I'm not seeing more.

I’m not sure bud. Doesn’t seem to be making progress! It may get to Kent before Christmas lol. Need some windshear down there, like there is over the NW at the minute

At least lightning maps is representing about 50% of the strikes I'm seeing. Which is good, but this storm tonight has been literally the BEST I've seen since the late 90s? og it's insane how much lightening is going off here still!!! And just as I type this another close positive CG!!! Need underwear change soon!!
