Getting a bit of rain from the edge of the NE London cell i think. Bright infrequent flashes from that one. Oddly enough, can’t see any flashes coming from West London

Lots of lightning visible from Basingstoke coming from the Reading cell. Hearing very faint rumbles now. Can also see (I think) flashes directly off to the east, not sure of that though, but these flashes are very bright.

Seeing the same up in Bramley. Wondering if it's just an effect as there isn't anything to the east.

I think so, maybe reflection as there's a lot of haze here at the moment. I'm on the very eastern edge of Baso so fairly uninterrupted by light pollution.

Here it is - the video of this mornings storm

The rain was getting into the camera so I had to film it near the window unfortunately, but you can still hear the thunder regardless.

If you skip to 8:25 into the video, you'll see a flash and not long after the thunder follows and then there is some awesome crackling sound @Paul Sherman @staplehurst - perhaps this could have been a +CG?

There's a really cool boom as well at 2:15

Can see the lightning from the North London cells down here on the Sussex coast.

All in all for me I’d say this was an extremely satisfying day for storms. Glad I chose to go down to Rye and then come back when those cells were exploding out of Tunbridge Wells etc. Some of the best cloud structures I’ve seen. Driving though them was scary as hell. Then a nice distant lightning flicker show over London to close off the day ??????

I've shut down the radar and lightningmaps.

Not even the chance of an opportunity of a glimpse of a flash 60 miles away.

Maidenhead here,

I've never known anything like it.

Multiple flashes, sometimes 3+ per second.

Constant and I mean constant thunder now for about 30 minutes.

Thanks for the export!

it was so wierd buddy, it was like a mist was covering the lightning but it was constant, but there was bigger flashes not so much thunder.

You can hear the roar of "why are we waiting" from Norwich folk. BBC has us in the game at 4am so I'm hoping that lot is moving north/north east.

Anyone know the steering flow?

A lot of models had the storms going WSW, so I guess they'll turn to that from the current W eventually.

Essex storm was absolutely bonkers.

Flash after flash consistently every other second at times.

Couldn't make out any details of any flashes on the seafront here due to the amount of fog there is.

First actual bit of nighttime lightning since July 25th 2019.

Think it's west. I'm in Wallingford and that cell is directly overhead now heading Didcot, Wantage. May go slightly south of you but you should get lightning
