Oh I know where that is, I’ve been there, I meant I can’t see how it’s reaching the Essex storms approx 70 miles away?? I wondered which compass direction the camera was facing, incase something is out there not showing on the lightning maps.

must be facing north-northwest and i have a webcamera facing the east south east and showing nothing

They are elevated, had people in Swansea seeing flashes from the NW Midlands storm last night.  Heck I could see the Anvil from the massive supercell that formed in just inland of South Wales the other day, these sort of storms don't care about our 'should's and should not's' they just do whatever they want

What can I say I must be a brilliant young & upcoming meteorologist ;)

In all honesty, I meant "what do you reckon if I took a 3 and a half hour drive to Southend-on-Sea now" haha oops...

Choose your wording wisely next time as you had me there,it's a good job that you are not a meteorologist

This is what you call a storm!

I actually feel robbed now, I spawned it and grew it in NW6 only for it to deliver 5 miles later!!

Just been reading that parts of the M25 & M23 are partially closed this evening due to multiple flooding locations on the carriageway.

Makes a change viewing a distant storm to my north instead of to my south! Haven't used any fuel to see these distant flashes either - BONUS!

Now that's a proper storm, constant flashes of lightning every few seconds and heavy rain!

Storms starting pack into north London/ north Essex area. Looking interesting for these areas tonight. Wave, after wave and home grown also.

I might see some faint flashes on the horizon as it heads off into the N Sea. Still, one ought to be grateful, some people have had 4 days solid of nothing but storms.....
