Where did this come from???51B93157-BD3E-4830-984D-CE20B6C534B2.thumb.jpeg.ade7f08be13ce9e6a592912f2e3c5c57.jpeg

Appears to be inline with the CHF Storms  so probably part of the same feature.

Plonked myself on a hill near Guildford that overlooks London, can see the occasional flash off the mid-London line but not much electrical activity

Looks like it’s skirting me to the North. Some pretty bright flashes and nice long rumbles though

Nothing here along the road either...can you see all the elevated lightning? The bulk of it seems to be from the north, the cell heading towards Essex!

Yep can see the Essex stuff, and occasionally something to my west, but can't work out what that is.

Being away from looking at the radar in the last few hours, is nice to see that things have exploded more into life for some of you down South-East ⚡

Still not one rumble, what a waste of an intensely hot week desperately need some rain and a storm to clear away this warm muggy air

Oh I know where that is, I’ve been there, I meant I can’t see how it’s reaching the Essex storms approx 70 miles away?? I wondered which compass direction the camera was facing, incase something is out there not showing on the lightning maps.

A pretty grim end to a heatwave for Norfolk and Suffolk, almost the only region in the UK which has seen zero activity. Today it was grey skies and temps 10 deg + below yesterday's thanks to a poxy N'ly dragging in low cloud. Friends of mine less than 5 miles away were basking in hot sunshine all day.

Roll on 2021, it can't be globally worse than 2020.

Add Ashford to the list as well

What can I say I must be a brilliant young & upcoming meteorologist ;)

In all honesty, I meant "what do you reckon if I took a 3 and a half hour drive to Southend-on-Sea now"

May have caused some slight confusion haha oops...

Everything forming to either my north or south! In bed now but I'd be up and out again for that elusive night time lightning shot!

Another go at this tomorrow night too it looks like.
