Atmosphere still looking very volatile everywhere from the London cell, across the channel and into N France. Little cells shooting up very very rapidly in the channel if you watch the video

It's actually raining in Clacton! High based shower just passed through giving 5 minutes of large drops. More developing offshore but no sign of anything more than moderate showers. Not sure if there's enough energy or forcing for a storm to develop from the 850hPa plume. But I live in hope...

Considering its been 19/20c in luton all day and not a bit of sun im suprised to day that skies have broken slightly in the last 30 mins. And CB have shot up to the east. Goes to show heats not the inlt ingredients needed!

Parallelogram of Silence. Covers Hants, Dorset and Wilts apart from the area covered by the SOR. Understand that? :oldrofl:

This is an unusual situation storm wise, as I have only ever experienced storms coming from the south, so I'm very interested to see how this evening plays out.

Just need to find a new location to take pictures, as my usual spot is almost useless for storms coming from the east

Good luck guys and girls

It happens almost every time storms are forecast, if they don't appear exactly as the models predicted, you get the usual "it's all gone belly up" posts

Give it time folks give it time...

It might not be over for folks elsewhere, but it's done & dusted here. Prime time has been and gone!

just got back from taking my dog for a walk and its now warm winds and muggy air feels heavier than it did a hour ago i feel its still on

Ditto. Walking the dogs and everything was eerily still and humidity high. I am still hopeful for Hants - may take a drive down towards the coast later if anything looks interesting.

After all the forecasts which looked good for here seemed to have gone a  bit pete tong. I know it was only a risk do you think there  is still a chance for Somerset or me or has the opportunity gone

Hopefully not!

Looking at the radar I wouldn't totally give up if I was in your location, it's feels very juicy out there, and you are down wind from me.

Gave up looking at the radar an hour ago due to the massive gap of nothing to my east and the fact I have barely seen the sun all day with just 22C when I drove home. Just checked it now and there has been a sudden build up in the usual Milton Keynes area, so looking forward to watching it head north of me!
