AROME 12z rolling out and indicating a further round of storms are possible in the next few hours across N Kent and possibly into the COS @Paul Sherman

Would love to get some nearby or preferably overhead thunder and lightning ?

Something incoming from the east. Can hear constant grumbling from that direction now.

The main concern for serious flooding looks to be over Devon and Cornwall at the moment, that area has a history of vulnerability to storms it doesnt look good.

Sorry when did you become a stand up comedian

It's impossible due to the North wind I have here and the northerlies beating the southerlies further south unless the southerlies win and a new CZ sets up other than that its done for another day

We have been hit quite hard by the rain, here in Epsom. Quite a few roads are flooded, still havinf the strikes and rumbles. I haven't seen rain like that in YEARS. it was monsoon like but consistent.

Watched the storms drift away over Epsom. Not much for Reigate other than a good soaking. Fun to listen to the continuous thunder though.

I think that's it so I'm signing out. Have fun all!

Looking at the cloud motion above me (painfully slow) and assuming this doesn’t fall apart, the Andover storm shield will go in the next hour.

Now THAT was something else!! I’ll narrate my day: drove down to Rye, East Sussex for a few hours and started to see some serious convection bubbling up ahead of the decaying storm in the channel. After having lunch in a cafe , starting driving back home being chased by a very ominous dark cloud coming off the channel. To my amazement, to my north I saw two or three giant towers. Still developing as I got closer, the size of those things were beyond belief!! Headed right into the storm system on the way back home and my god were the driving conditions horrendous, very frequent flickering of lightning, torrential rain, roads turning to rivers. What an experience! If I’d stayed at home I wouldn’t have seen it
