PWAT?  Visible?

Precipitable Water. Higher levels of PWAT mean higher rates of rainfall usually. So if you have a lot of PWAT, if you get a storm then it'll be a big ol deluge.

It's bowing under the pressure...

Nothing compared to the new shield we have over Lincolnshire and the NE of England this week. Nothing to be seen around us at all. Only place that got a storm this week was a short 15 minute one in Hull that we in Scunthorpe developed for them, otherwise nothing

It’s passed here now just leaving some moderate rain. Didn’t hear a lot here as I wasn’t quite close enough although typically it intensified further south after it had passed to the west of me. Can smell petrichor now

Thanks!

Looks like we're done now for that line of showers. Sun is coming back out. We'll have to see if anything else fires up south of Reigate. Still zero rain here.

For anyone that's watching later and I have no major issues I shall be flying from Essex to Cardiff and will try get some shots if it's safe to do so.  Estimating my departure at 1900L, landing into Cardiff at 2003L

First area of concern drifting northwards.

The area of concern drifting northwards for the flight later. Which could likely cancel the flight and maybe the trip, if not done by road.

Epic landing on the second video along with the views and Cells, I can see in the first video how it can be hard to spot CB hiding among other clouds (low level).

The Jet fighter topped things of as you were prepping for take off  .

Had to research what ADSB Datalink is...it's expensive but worth it for both weather and traffic.

Thanks for the share, now go join The 53d WRS

Glad you enjoyed that landing, was literally on the limit of what the aircraft is demonstrated to do.  CBs really do pep up the winds.   Those showers we flew under at the first part of the video became Thunderstorms a short whilst later, as it appeared in the news.

ADSB weather isn't available in Europe. The only option is SatCom style data link, which is very pricey.  Most modern-airliners are equipped with in-flight airborne weather radar and SATCOM DATA  ACARS for METAR/TAFs.

I see hail has started to show on the radar in some of the cells in the last 10/15 mins or so.

All the action is looking worryingly far south - I hope things begin to fire deeper into North Hampshire.

They're cooking them for you which makes a change from your region doing it for us to your north

My alexa said that it was currently raining for me and I could expect 20mm in 15 minutes, but not a drop has fallen.

Definitely dying a death over the West Mids now, plus i think this heatwave is over now, dropped from 32C yesterday down to 21C today, currently 19.5C, storms probably out of the question here for a while now - not that we haven't had enough of them.

Even if it dies there's an AMAZING cool breeze coming from the south now ❤️ BLISS! ❤️

Looks as though the SOR back-up system is just doing enough to fend it off.

Yep its was killed pretty quickly, still opportunity for more to develop later this afternoon, that was probably a 3 out of 10.
