Positive signs from the satellite with the sunshine coming out behind the rain that has moved through the midlands. We really need that heating for things to get going. It’s this area where storms will most likely be developed and move NW given the CAPE...

And nothing to suggest anything will change, cool and cloudy here, not seen rain for days, this is the calm before the calm, lol

I thought we might of caught a rogue shower but no such luck, more dullness it is !

The tentative nature of that cell near Tunbridge Wells doesn’t fill me with much optimism - would have hoped for an explosion of energy

My guess for lightning activity this afternoon evening will be red box, with not much activity or indeed cloud, rain blue box.

What about in the gap between your blue and red box? That's where I am!! No mans land

On a serious note, the earlier elevated storm moved through - we had a lovely show, and the sun is now trying to make a showing. I believe anyone from the lower part of your blue box, through no mans land, and within the red zone, may have a zone of 'pop up' storms forming later especially if heating gets going. Cloud cover may well be the key today for further development

There's no shortage, its a pressure issue, due to amount of water people are using, re sprinklers and filling paddling pools etc.

Over 3 billion litres of water leak out of their pipe network per day, along with pressure.

Thats 30% of the daily usage, its been like that for 20 years now, just now the difference is the amount of new houses that are going up in the southeast is ridiculous, no extra water treatment works been built to cope with demand.

What they doing with the extra water bill money from all the new houses...

Sky's filling rapidly with Cumulous. The mass over Birmingham seems to be pushing a low level mass of Dark grey clouds infront of it.

Rainfall in that has almost hit a brick wall, plus it's narrowing, so not expecting much here.
