Maybe it'll hit Coningsby  .  Big Jet TV is livestreaming from there, and he was moaning earlier on about the weather at Heathrow yesterday, and he's 'glad to be out of that today'

I remember him filming Heathrow all day in a belter of a winter gale! Dedicated, almost insane. Amazing guy.

This band of rain just needs to get a move on, it’s not producing much convective activity whatsoever (except in the East) and is really bringing the temperature down which won’t help storms to develop later in the day.

Was just messaging a friend and saying exact same thing, this system needs to hurry up and shift its self

This currently looks promising although I shouldn't get my hopes up really

Just plotted where the eastern extent of this storm system is tracking. It appears to be building on the eastern side of the band of storms. If this continues then the eastern edge should follow the red arrow and means Scunthorpe should see some storms later this afternoon.

Keep going like this storms and don't swerve westwards or die on me before you get to Scunthorpe

It's moving WNW is the precipitation so that edge is destined for Nottingham and Derby. The further north it initially forms the better of course.

It's very odd considering we've just had one of the wettest autumn and winters on record!

The news is people are using to much water, and others are then having pressure issues, and not able to get any. But the storage is fine.there was a call for people to stop using sprinklers on the news last night.

It should hopefully budge from our area within the next hour or so, but it’s really isn’t in a hurry to go anywhere.

Looks like the weather isn't far away from The Rose Bowl in Southampton.

And rain has now  stopped play.

The hovercover is on.

Just got dumped on by a ton of rain  , but you could hear the grumbling of the thunder on it.  He did get footage of a plane being struck by lightning a few months back though. (it's on his youtube channel)
