Can see Dorset, Hampshire, Sussex and Surrey looking at some very nice storms from 17z to 00z today and this will eventually sag into the English Channel and fragment leaving a much cloudier cooler day tomorrow and probably tomorrow is the day when Insolation will kill off any chances.

Then its back to Sunshine and Showers with fresher weather over the weekend and more like normal UK Cape values 200 to 500jkg

How about Taunton?

Sorry yh that was for the SE mainly but yes Taunton looks good as well.

The killer for tomorrow is the Arome was showing a Convergence zone like the Thames Snow Streamers we get in the winters on an ENE Wind but if cloudy thats gone as well

Just coming out of a very rumbly storm here north of Cambridge! Constant rumbles and flashes. Went from cool grey murk to heavy storm in minutes. Not a bad one at all in my books!

Now we just need to tempt the sun out and I reckon we'll be in for some tasty beasts later today with any luck :yahoo:

A good start.

Not expecting anything here today, too far north, but these storms do look slightly further north than modelled so who knows.

I think I've chased quite enough this week already, mission for next summer, obtain a more economical chase car!

The yellow warning for thunderstorms has been updated.

"Warning has been removed from parts of the north. However the impact level has been increased to high, given the potential for exceptional rainfall."

It's been shockingly awful storm wise here in Worthing. Just a bit of rain last night. Expecting nothing here today, tomorrow, or any time in the foreseeable future, storm wise. Though I did go to Brighton last night and saw a few flashes over the channel!

If you guys also look on XC weather you can see where the winds are converging already, Just North of Shoreham we have a Southerly against a North Easterly and thats where the ignitiation zone looks to be, and storms will then form along this convergence along the M4 Corridoor before sagging back southwards. Would guess this might go around 2-4pm today or maybe even earlier.

If it wasn't for this easterly wind and the annoying ridge of high pressure pushing down across the north and some eastern areas

Killing off all chances anywhere NE of a line from Suffolk through to NW England

Hmmm..the western cells do seem to be struggling to hold together at the moment. They're still producing lightning though.

So gloomy out there right now, hard to tell where it is!

Cone of Silence (SE Essex), Triangle of doom (Beccles, Great Yarmouth, Norwich or Lowestoft I think). Don’t know what the SOR acronym stands for just yet lol.

Starting to get convective drops! Short sharp rumbles getting more frequent, but will be hard pushed to see any decent lightning due to this low cloud!

Just thought I'd take gander at Gav's latest Storm Watch video, and wish I hadn't: the Triangle manages to avoid all the thunderstorms... God, this is painful!

That’s a lot of non-thundery cloud over the midlands. Meanwhile hot in Sutton and clouds building at the coast. Estimating initiation over the far SE of London approx 2pm. Somewhere near the A3, perhaps
