I really want a memorable thunderstorm event soon, as I want to start practicing my creative writing pieces again. My weather journal has barely had any action this season!

look at that finger of Storms trying to cross the English Channel! Wonder if it'll stretch far enough to touch both coasts at the same time

It’s almost there. Just a tiny bit further :clapping:

image.thumb.png.96c18df974ba5e88a4ea5b7a6219efbe.pngEvery day at this time I have been forecast around 50% for thunderstorms and torrential rain each time, and then the next hour the forecast changes to sunny skies and no storm chance. Hopefully this time it stays, even though I don't have high hopes.

Nothing here as per the norm, no heat to tap into, just cool cloudy skies.

Same here unfortunately.

That’s my reading however the accompanying chart suggests more generous potential across our neck of the woods. UKMO projections funnily enough better align with PJB forecast...

Nothing for us again?

Models are little over the place, but Kent is possibly the least favoured area of the S and SE. It is not a right off though as UKMO (and presumably therefore UKV) and AROME break out thundery looking precipitation through the afternoon and evening. I’m not losing faith but fully expect storms to erupt (this time) to my SOUTH and trundle westwards. My hunch yesterday regarding looking up the rear passage of western storms proved right - I hope I’m wrong today however.

I really would not worry in the areas that are cool and cloudy, its disgustingly stifling here at 80f and high humidity, this will push into the back side of the crud and ignite more storms.

There is a wedge across the Cone, Central Kent and Central Sussexes along with London where the juice is at present and we will breed em for you all

Also watch @Zak M’s video above - distinctly grey and murky there but with thunder and lightning.

In order for me to see any I'll need them breeding across Norfolk, no chance

Looks like we could be about to get some storms here in the West Mids over the next few hours. We're not getting the strongest cells of the system the way it stands. But as we've seen this week...the strength of various storms can ebb and flow as they continue their journey. So well worth keeping an eye out for.

Can see Dorset, Hampshire, Sussex and Surrey looking at some very nice storms from 17z to 00z today and this will eventually sag into the English Channel and fragment leaving a much cloudier cooler day tomorrow and probably tomorrow is the day when lack of Insolation will kill off any chances.

Then its back to Sunshine and Showers with fresher weather over the weekend and more like normal UK Cape values 200 to 500jkg
