Large Towers going up to my East now, forming a nice looking 'street'

Also not something you get to see very often, a newly fledged baby swift/swallow/housemartin (one of those that you normally see as a screaming blur blasting by, anyway  ) sitting on a telephone pole wire.

They put me in a 45% risk.. That has to be wrong, I dont reckon anything south west of Bristol will see anything.

IMO, Storms are quite possible over Somerset, Dorset and Devon into the evening and overnight as they increasingly form more towards the South and West.

In a Nutshell as follows

Storms will initiate over Inland parts of Sussex and Surrey and move through the M4 Corridoor and as the Convergence zone sags south more will form this evening over South Hants, IOW, West Sussex before dying off in the early hours.

So its game over for the COS & TOD but the SOR may well fall today

I recognise that these are parochial terms, but could someone please offer a rough reminder / definition of each for those of us who have missed a few posts along the way...?

Strange to think there’s a thunderstorm on the way when it’s so cloudy with a cool breeze.

Yes I agree was just thinking same thing

Let's just hope I get to experience a thunderstorm then!

Bit worried about that train of storms in the channel whoever gets a direct hit from that could get some serious issues with flooding.

That came over the top of us here in Maidenhead about an hour ago. Moderate thunder which oddly didn't show up on blitzorg. But it did deliver a gutter overwhelming quantity of rain, it was lovely.

Sadly looks like it is fading now.

I can confirm it deposited plenty of water on us. Still wringing out my gym kit

The 0z shows a lot of PPN in the southwest later. Somerset etc may be in for a lot of rain!

I just checked the Arome, and it seems like the system moving south-west will die out just before it hits me. Sad.

Cone of Silence (SE Essex), Triangle of doom (Beccles, Great Yarmouth, Norwich or Lowestoft I think). Don’t know what the SOR acronym stands for just yet lol.

Starting to get convective drops! Short sharp rumbles getting more frequent, but will be hard pushed to see any decent lightning due to this low cloud!

Would be nice to see what is going on to the SE of the West Mids, even if it doesn't reach here, if it could seen by the eyes - not by satellite.

We seem to have a lot of crud around. Temp 19c, humidity 95%

I dont think we will see a release of energy like yesterday, I mean that was outstanding, constant rumble - uninterrupted.

1 in decade event, sady I missed out, just on the edge

look at that finger of Storms trying to cross the English Channel! Wonder if it'll stretch far enough to touch both coasts at the same time
