Those who have got eyes on the channel storm, hows the lightning comparing to what’s being shown on Lightningmaps?

I’m debating whether to jump into the car and head south or not so any nudges would be helpful!

Down at Farlington Marshes, Portsmouth. Can see distant flashes but intermittent. Thinking of driving to Hayling Island. In for a penny....

Just watching the storm about 10miles away going over cardiff, constant lightning coming from it and constant distant thunder, gutted I've missed it, if i didnt have to be up for a 13hr shift tomorrow id have taken a drive to it!

It all seems to be coming from The Valleys & where I live (unfortunately for me lol).

Yes! It’s stunning. So many people on the beach watching. I’m gutted my battery is about to go, but I’m sure I’ve captured something

Doesn't seem to be much lightning on the storm around Crewe unless there's more than the radar is showing

It's not very active now

It's pleasant enough viewing along the coast, though moving very slow and still a fair way off land. As others have said, it's expected to largely die away.

Personally hoping eastern cells can maintain themselves, I'm easily entertained. Activity increasing.

Was just down there, hardly any flashes apart from one burst by ramsgate, more strengthening to the east?

I’m getting 18-19th June 2019 vibes from this, and that was one of the best nocturnal  t-storms I’ve ever had the pleasure to witness

15 to 20 flashes per minute currently off Hastings coast. These right now. Mostly IC but few CG. Odd rumbles. Still few miles off land will prob die out before making landfall and maybe reigniting inland.

Lightning all every direction around me currently. Probably 2 to 3 flashes every second. Very distant rumbles.

In the middle of the mother of all life ending lightening and thunder storms in Abersoch. Don’t feel that safe in a tent.

Booming thunder from this "Rain" Intra cloud if it's not showing up on Detectors?

Blitzortung in particular really seems to be struggling. I’ve seen a fair few illuminations on the southern skyline, presumably only the brightest. Few members on the coast reporting frequent lightning too. Lightning maps picking up more than blitzortung

Yes i believe IC shows up less, but it's in ten mins easily up to 200 flashes here in Hastings yet 1/4 of that at most IC and showing on detectors

Can see distant lightning to the ESE from Littlehampton from the cells about to move into Kent, the western side of the MCS looks useless so just rain here.

Hopefully the muck clears out quickly and allows good convective opportunity like today across regions that so far have had no luck
