Lots more lightning than is being suggested by the detectors it seems!

I just sat there for 15 minutes watching the constant lightning that happened in weston. I live in taunton, so nothing hit me. It's amazing to see thunder so bright and so quickly! Reminds me of that lightning show in 2018.

you mean seeing lightning,

how loud was it?

Strong pick up in the winds heading NNW/NW even the storms in Wales are heading more westerly along the south coast of Wales.

Surface pressure charts

Troughs at south coast UK

Ahh that’s a shame. I’m staying stuck to the stones until I have to run home

It has lost a lot of intensity since I last looked at the radar - pinks and reds slowly turning to orange. The models did call it, so i'm not hugely disappointed.

Thanks , it may arrive but my small cell was v good ,perhaps tomorrow now we have lower pressure cheers .

Seems like  lot of those in Shropshire earlier, not really moving much, vast majority of the strikes staying to the South West and only getting very slowly closer.

My brother's down the road in Flint. Said it's rumbling away like a goodun there, and a friend of his up near Wrexham is enjoying CG's and loud thunder.

I’m in Telford atm but my hubby is in Wrexham. It actually scared me this storm in Telford today and I’m not easily scared by them lol

This is unreal.

EVERY SINGLE storm has weakened, avoided me, slipped west, east, north, south and literally got intense 4/5 miles north of me.

This is the 3rd day running it’s happened.

Can anyone help explain this to me?

Elevated storm kicked off over Pwllheli.

Lightning maps not picking anything up and I've had several flashes.

Hello mate, to be honest I think @LightningLover and @Electricmumma are far more reliable than I. @LightningLover reporting far more lightning than the detectors are picking up so I’m shooting blind this far in land.

Two things I would note from my vantage point - breeze is picking up a little and there’s a rash of cumuliform looking clouds building to my east and south.

Channel webcams are all out, or so bad you could not see a flash of lightning if it blew the camera off the pole. Apart from Eastbourne Yacht club that has two huge lights shining at the webcam

Paul Blight's forecast for tomorrow.

Fingers crossed but you know the convergence zone will set up along the m4 and storms will move north west.

What a wired cloud pattern. You have the storm over Wales then another big patch doing northing next to it.

yep, my bad. It was amazing to see the lightning. There was no thunder with it because we were too far away just constant flashes.

Put it this way I wouldn't stay up

Best bet go to bed now as we might get a few rumbles at daybreak from elevated crud which should intensify over North Wales Liverpool tomorrow

Fixed.
