Just been sent a few videos from around shropshire and the shrewsbury areas. Pitch black and absolutely torrential rain, constant lightning. Very impressed, even on radar.

Do we stand a chance in Essex or is this going to get pushed west too quickly?

Put it this way I wouldn't stay up

Best bet go to bed now as we might get a few rumbles at daybreak from elevated crud which should intensify over Cambs and East Mids tomorrow

Jesus Mary and Joseph this storm is unreal!!!!

My brother's down the road in Flint. Said it's rumbling away like a goodun there, and a friend of his up near Wrexham is enjoying CG's and loud thunder.

image.thumb.png.ffbe0c236b7b8e5bc4756a9c9b750459.pngClosest to lightning I've been for a while! I can see it in the clouds!!! It's moving north so I don't expect to see it for much longer, but atleast it's cooled down a lot now.

The thunder or lightning didn't impact us, but atleast I've seen some lightning!

Have a nice night everyone.

Lots of lightning flashes off to the west, and a couple to the north. That must be one hell of a storm yonder

How quick did things develop between Wolverhampton and Stoke, there was virtually nothing between the two at 8pm

Very quick - and very impressive as well! Wouldn't mind another eastward build

I've attached a crap (as in, not lined up well) radar GIF highlighting the explosive cell development over Stoke

I knew and feared that would be the answer and I thank you for your honesty, however, I have just opened the first of 4 beers that I hoped to enjoy stood at the backdoor watching the show. SO...can you try again, this time giving me some false hope like I used to have in the good old days?

So ....so disappointed today, the London things went off, and if everything had moved like the last 5 days, would have been battered....

But NO, they went West, and once far enough past me went North again.

I have watched Leicester spawn magnificent storms day after day, I have seen the same location spawn storms west of me 3 days this week........

Sob, what do I have to do, I cant end up joining Mr Sherman with a new zone... Weedon And Northampton Kone....

I reckon Tomorrow will Be our day my good man! ??

Rain just started in Stoke. Frequent lightning at about 5-10 miles constant low rumbling, mostly West round to South. A little surprised, but after the way last night exploded. fingers crossed for another direct hit!
