You're all here because you want a storm... I'm here because I'm petrified and am waiting for all this to blow over

These cells definitely have a Northerly feel to them, i understand how difficult Thunderstorms are to predict, but the MetO have been certain that they will be moving directly West

They seemed to be West as they approached the ones in Wales but as they got closer they began moving North. At least that's what I think.

Storm developed to my W and is now moving away to the NW. Hearing distant rumbles.

Sky to the E and SE looks stable.

i still haven't looked at my storm clips from this morning yet,too much action going on in here

What is a Microburst?   Seen plenty to know them.

Thats the name i was looking for!

Yeah could have quite possible of been one. Ive been in plenty of gust fronts and that certainly wasnt one (or a VERY strong one)

On another note..

THERE IS A LOT! of convection behind this big storm .. Can see anvils to my south and west

Thunder heard from this presumably over Winchester - could Arome be right?!

Trouble is, I really need a poo and this has all happened so fast

I can see the cell towards Bristol quite nicely from where I am in Cardiff, just hoping for something to develop further south than that now.

Think I'm in the eye of a Hurricane right now, completely surrounded by a circular wall of Cloud with clear blue skies directly above.
