Lol 90% of this forum is southerners moaning that they haven't had any storms this year, its hot and sunny, be grateful... 5% is people asking if their area is going to get anything, like we know lol... And the other 5% is actual storm discussion and reports lol... Oh well... After last night's epic storm it's hot and sunny up here, humid too.

How selfish you too would be moaning when the bloody north is getting thunderstorms whilst us in the south have to endure this heat and get no reward.

Meto have included us though in their amber warning - not sure what for - but let's wait and see where this goes

yes seems a little generalised,. we can only hope that something forms on the Southern Flank of what started in London

Otherwise we'll be wishing for storms over night ,. with at least a chance of some distant lightning

I have a concern that all the leftover cloud/wet mess from the French MCS will drift across the south and delay convection for tomorrow if it lingers. Hopefully it dissipates and buggers off fast if it does.

Model agreement is that they will. Main hope as far as I can see is that something develops ahead of its very slow arrival in the early hours, which some models are indicating.

On the outskirts of Gloucester and the wind has gone from nothing to destroying a parasol within minutes. Mental! Really warm wind and all

The towers to my NW are shooting up like bamboo in a rainy season! (pity they are moving away  )

That is exactly how that will play out if models are to be believed.

Expect an overcast muggy morning with patchy light rain.

Meanwhile, down the road from Dudley in Bewdley, it's still dry. A few spots earlier and lots of rumbling in the distance, plus the sky is grey and threatening... but no rain and no lightning seen. (I can see over towards Clent from here.) Shows how hit and miss this stuff is!

I’m going to be well stroppy here - I hope it does! I hope it leaves a great big cloud shield over central England. I’m not going to put up with warm rain only for the same areas further north to get battered for a fourth day in succession in some places....

Yes I agree it should travel into the midlands and sit there tomorrow and let other areas breed the storms

Here's a thought, the south is pretty much smack bang between the two systems, where the outflow from both storm systems meet, could it trigger something?

The rain from that is modelled to get drawn westwards towards the Celtic Sea, so presumably the decaying cloud field will do just that.
