Think we’ll get our chance later on when they blow westwards

There is 3 convergence zones atm than I can see looking at sat loops, everything is north of us, those ones over london are not going due west, they are going north west as the LP pushes up from france.

Staggeringly beautiful explosive convection to my west. As expected I’m about 15-20 miles too far to the east  ARÔME spot on though.

How is this for an updraft column!!!! First two pics the storm to my West over London, second an explosive tower to my N

Powerful clouds jockeying for position while the rumbling continues.

Problem is, (and I’m no expert) but it seems that there’s plenty of CAPE but a lack of lift or some form of trigger mechanism. Some of the towers round here went up high and so quickly, but you can see them peter out and fade. They don’t evolve to proper Cb Incus anvils. Saw some Pileus caps form but still.

Here’s what I mean with one looking N. This was about half hour ago or so.

The updrafts are very, very strong. It's just such a shame there's virtually no shear to ramp up any storms and keep them going for longer.

Exactly this! And for the UK, it's quite unusual right, to see such low shear at the moment?

Approaching, it's been here for a little while now. Constant thunder, very heavy rain.

It kicked of here at 3 in the distance....when I posted was literally overhead!

Thunder heard, rather surprised as the shower overhead looks rather weak on radar
