Absolutely torrential in Hinckley with frequent lightning. Didn't expect this so early

Hard to put into words the supercells in Edinburgh / Fife last night , doubt I will ever see a storm like that again. Near constant lightning - thunder from 2130 to 0500. Still going in fife too as can still hear distant thunder. Some of the videos on twitter are crazy

Nothing really to suggest supercells, high lightning rates, hail and mega heavy rain aren’t indicators of supercelluar structure. Normal TS can produce amazing shows.

That storm that developed between Birmingham and Leicester this morning is moving northeast a lot quicker than any of the storms we've seen this week.

Could suggest a slight shift in who gets to see them today? Maybe a few can get into more eastern areas?

The tops of the Leicester storm moving away from me.

Dear Netweather,

Today I would appreciate a storm all to myself. I have been a good boy and spent all week taking/posting pictures of everyone elses storms so it must be about my turn now.

Thankyou.

I'm not so sure, I think we may get something, at some point.

Edit: I think I just heard a rumble now.

Parts near Edinburgh have had torrential rain and thunder and lightning for nearly 10hours straight! Now that is EXTREME.

Models do look more promising for central south today. *Awaits Dan's forecast*

the circle of life on this forum, be it summer or winter

Promising models or forecast > entertaining debate and discussion > endless disapointment

So for days building up to this point, and our area is likely to get very little today or tomorrow, going by the latest BBC forecast.

Last night's Buzzard storm was so slow moving it died out before it got here.

My grass is not grass anymore! Desperate for rain!

Trees down in Hinckley after the storm this morning. Winds were the strongest I’ve ever felt in my 46 years!
