Why is it that us in the south have to deal with all the heat but then always watch the north get the storms?

I’m just sitting at my window in awe, Scotland maybe gets a storm like this once every 5 years. Not going to bed until it’s over.

Just had a quick scoot through the UKV - Looks poor for storms Southern coastal areas. Unlikely to be any rain for the most part as well.

No real loud thunder but the winds are gusting and rain pouring and the light show is amazing.

This is so infuriating.

Literally every storm has stopped, broken apart or completely avoided Rugeley at all costs!

Now BOTH of the current cells are heading directly east and west of us! How unlucky can we be!

What a joke!

Currently sat in the garden under clear sky and can see stars directly overhead but it’s so surreal it’s like the blitz to my south and west it’s even lighting the clear sky up

FINALLY!!!! A thunderstorm pretty much right overhead here in south Bucks. Been sitting by the back window upstairs looking S and E and must have seen a few dozen flashes including some pretty close ones, and the garden has had its first heavy drink in a while.

Given I’d spent between 6:30ish and 9pm watching storms bypass the Chalfonts area both W and E (Wycombe cell and then W London cell) I could see towers building everywhere about 9ish and I was sure something was gonna arrive. Well it did!

Nothing spectacular by any means but if I was at mine in East Hants I’ve had seen nothing at all! I hope this is a sign of things to come for those even further south.

Never seen or heard anything like this! Constant thunder and lightning from about 7.30pm and just starting to ease up now! Wow Glenrothes, Fife.

It’s nuts isn’t it ... never ending and more to come.. haven’t seen a storm like this in the U.K. before , even in Florida they never went on as long as this one has
