sat in the garden watching the lightning up in the clouds

Had some rain similar to last night but its stopped now ,

Lightning overhead but a good 10 to 12 seconds before you hear the thunder .

Day 2 , hopefully more tomorrow .

Is anyone in the Sussex area going to be chasing tomorrow?

I may do, will see what work is like, and go from there, in an ideal world, it would be great if there's some beauts coming across the channel, then I don't have to travel far, down to jury's gap again. Last time I went there, was 3 years ago, got down around 1am, and we.t facebook live as it rolled in, my mate streamed it on the web, fantastic night, but bloody scary as well, it's all marshland behind the sea wall, and well below sea level, it was around 2.30am when I felt the hairs on the back of my neck stand up, then this almighty bolt cracked right above me, with instant cannon thunder, I dropped the phone, and realised I was probably a lucky boy. Decided at that point to return to the safety of the car, and to answer the countless messages from people who thought I copped an.unfortunate 1

Distant thunder in Shrewsbury could be from wales storms or Birmingham. Or could be the new rash of storms to the south west... one to keep an eye on.

A whole rash of showers have just developed South of Shrewsbury.

Wales Cell is spawning more 'babies' behind it, this time on it's SE side    You can draw a straight line from them, through the Oxford one to the ones in London, looks like it's on or near the line that was highlighted earlier in the day

Used to keep my horse at a livery yard in Harefield (in the days when Harefield had 13 pubs!) Had a strike on a telegraph pole in the yard one time, and overhead cables fried as well in the same year!

Niiiiice! Only 4 pubs here now the others are all gone or flats these days!

Usually if storms get going down here in the SE we do get a taste of it, most of the really good storms have come through here in recent years

The Heathrow cell has gone quiet now and is currently moving off over Watford as a big rainy cloud

Remains to be seen if we get anything else down here tonight

Is it me or has the Brum storm developed another core? i'm thinking of the outflow from that baby starting new storms up. I've seen the rash of showers over Shropshire way, it'll probably just slide slightly past us in Stoke. I'm  pinning my hopes on the Brum storm.

No lol awful place to live

We are usually quite good for thunderstorms! Or at least... We used to be. It would be really interesting to know what has seemingly changed. Maybe it’s just an extended string of bad luck, who knows...?

I remember seeing a chart that showed the track of every MCS over the course of around 20 years, and guess what? The Home Counties, London, and the extreme SE had the highest concentration of them.

Another cell has gone up near Luton. Can just about make it out in the fading light.

Wow! Big flash from it I think!
