Storms over Northern France are dying a death so those hoping a hit from them are being wishful at best. Home grown storms again tonight and tomorrow it is. Wednesday night, Thursday and Friday look best for imports off the continent.

Some subtle hints that the Rhayader cell is rotating on NW Radar. Certainly looks like it.

Rapidly developing Cu Nimbus with thunder over the Solway Plain Cumbria this evening

Admire the optimism but can't see anything happening tonight apart from that storm in holland tracking up the north sea and giving eastern fringes scotland a good hiding come the morning. Just look at that big storm i9n france die as soon as it hit the english channel...  Some nice photos of clouds but none look that threatening at all.

Loved that storm, stood on my porch watching until the rain started, then we danced in the rain in the street just looking at the lightning everywhere! It reminded me of the first ‘big’ storm I remember from childhood, it was the night of my year 6 school disco, and I didn’t end up going, good thing as a tree next to the kdr was struck, that would have had me needing a full change of clothes!

BTW The 12Z models have done an APPALING (yes it needs to be capitals) job with the convection over France, ECM, ICON, Arpege, Arome all have no MCS in northern France, most not even any activity at all. GFS prob the closest, even has little splodge in the Channel.
