London across to Oxford and upto Cambridge looks primed from 4pm today.

Cone, POS, Tod and SOR should all add an extra day though

Seems to be the trend. Have a sneaky suspicion it might be one of those days where I’m sat watching an explosive Cb and hearing distant booms/crackles ‘just over yonder’ as it tracks slowly away - which I’ll take quite happily as overhead action seems less likely.

29C now with not a gnat’s fart of breeze too so looking very likely to hit the cap erosion point of 32/33C

Extra day? How about an extra 365 - that's far more doable!

Just been pootling around the garden, way more humid than yesterday when I was working outside all day.

You guys at home are importing the high dew points we have in France currently. We had a misty start to the day here at 23C as the sun came up ! Forecast 38C here today which makes it 7 days with a maximum over 33C and no night time minima below 21C. Peaked at 40C on two days.

Storms yesterday and overnight and then later today for us.

Looks like a higher risk around Yorkshire today. Less energy unzipping than yesterday but more of it doing so in this location.

Indeed - since those earlier showers (which dropped about 17 spots of rain here) the temperature here is soaring. 28C and climbing quickly. Interestingly my app, which has (rightly) not indicated any storms for the past several days, is showing 40-60% storm risk for this afternoon (for a good few hours).

Just hit 30 here already but with a real feel of 35  dew point 19

I still can't believe the storms last night. Internet has been down since across the village I'm at. Might be a bit before sharing videos and pictures

Kinda glad it's ibracloud. Imagine if this lightning constantly reached the ground lol though that would have been amazing aha

Not in places where no rain was reaching the ground. Mind you, I don't know if the fields are as dry as ours down south.

Incredible isn’t it - the temperature has gone from 28C to 30C in about the space of 30 mins (now that could be 28.4C to 29.6C depending on how the app indicates temperature, which seems most likely).

Was this humidity even forecast to be like this for Bournemouth and Poole this morning? Seems much worse. Someone lucky somewhere is in for a major storm later judging by this!

It’s crazy. Skies are perfectly blue here, slight breeze but almost unnoticeable. based on the last few days this temperature will rise further, usually doesn’t stop rising til 4.

As the Sun Newspaper would say: phwoar what a scorcher.  Another baking day here with cloudless skies.  Please can someone move the severe weather zone to Surrey? Thanks!

Epic video. Was just the same here. Sounds like you got what I got  after it had passed over me. Definitely more cgs in the later storms. I was doing the same as you here in the garden talking to the storm asking it to give me some Lightning close by

10 minutes later and it’s now 31C! So that’s a 3C jump inside an hour.

How can the met office video forecast on YouTube be so wrong?? Where are the scattered showers/thunderstorms that were due to arrive to the south this morning?

Yeah does look wrong, but was recorded yesterday. This tweet shows showers in the south not expected until after 1/2 PM

Temp still only at 22.2C, still a small pocket of cloud over Wolves, not shifting too quickly either, hope it isn't going to have any effect on the teams Europa League performance tonight!
