Another cell with nice thunder going to pass close by to my east. About 5 strikes per minute.

This is truly extraordinary for this location.

I'm 60 years old and I’ve never known such a prolonged storm as this. Still ongoing! 4.5 hours now.

I never expected the storm to be this big. To think this is just day one of storms and that there could be more to come this week

Even now 4 hours on its still showing about 50 strikes a minute from time to time. Lightning now becoming more frequent again

I find it interesting how the storm first started travelling north and its pretty much stayed around Preston, Lancaster areas for a good 4 hours

Have been able to see flashes to the W and NW for hours, we had a brief overhead storm that passed over in 10 minutes about 4pm but very little rain. 90F heat in the SE, massive storms in Wales and Lancashire, will any of it actually get here? Or do we just get cloud and humidity again....

Tuesday night maybe? Wednesday?

Over 5 hours of lightning, thunder and some  hours of torrential rain. Fantastic!

MetO are going for some heavy showers forming in the north Midlands anytime between now and 6am, i'm not sure if it'll be worth staying up that late just to see but i'm hoping the sunrise soon will show some nice AcCas formations around.

First alarm has gone off and there’s some convective developments moving through Sussex/Kent currently. Some lightning associated too but this (somewhat true to form) is just staying off shore.

Started life over in Northern France ( Le Harve) soon after 10pm last night, crossed the channel slowly overnight and weakened then regained its oooomph! as it approached Rye bay between 5am and 6am.

An interesting little cell if you follow the radar grabs.

SE and EA looking like the Spawning Ground this Morning. You can see New Storms breaking out around Norwich, Sudbury etc. Another Cell just coming to Kent Coast. I think we may of been Decapped.
