My brother is up in Flint (NE Wales), and says the lightning literally came out of nowhere around 11pm and is constant. Says he's never seen anything like it.

That storm looks mighty impressive even from that Manchester cam! Even looks as bad as the May 2018 storms. Fair play to the far NW folk.

Hoping that stuff entering EA can spark up after midnight! The energy is there for sure.

I've seen a few flashes now from that stuff leaving north east France, problem is, it'll either be a fish storm, or head for EA.

Nah, bet we don’t get a sausage again. Even the little pockets of heavy rain missed Folkestone and Dover entirely a short while ago!

I joined this forum in 2007. Back then, I remember year after year reading about how Shropshire, Merseyside and the northwest was useless for any kind of interesting weather while the southeast took the lions share.

The southeast and East Anglia will have it's day again...maybe even this week!

Wasn't the May 2018 storms where there was like 400 strikes a minute at one point? Unless that was 2017

Are we in the fireing like for that?

Don't think so, looks to be head NW, so may be EA if it survives at all.

Lots of Popcorn storms exploding to the West (and also initiating in a south direction) off of the main Welsh blob!!! Some of which have hail despite them only forming over the last 10 mins!!!!!

Most of the precipitation has gone now but we still have constant T&L overhead seen a few bolts nearby. Quick video showing the strobe lightning show.

We’ve got cell after cell coming over, as one passes another comes along from the South.

A lot of the lightning here is elevated at the moment, cloud light looks pretty impressive, very little thunder apart from some deep rumbles but no rain or wind
