I can hear the approaching next cell to the south, this will likely be the last storm we have tonight be judging by the occasionally booming thunder, it could be better than the last one.

Hey peeps, have a look at the rotation on the large cell between Limerick and Kilkenny in Ireland by moving the radar back and forth, it's freaking insane o_O !!!!  Looks like the centre of a Low beginning to form!

Holy Sh*t massive +CG 1 mile. One of the most powerful I’ve ever heard. Several huge explosive bangs in it.

Yeah it's weak upper low so will have some sort of rotation on it.

That Snowdonia storm is getting very little attention on here. It looks incredibly active. You watch it go to the Isle of Man and give them their third big thunderstorm of the season!

On what world could the IOM ever have more storms in a year than Norfolk?

Really doesn't bear thinking about

Not to mention more storms than Dorset, Hampshire, Berkshire, Greater London, Surrey, Sussex, Kent, Essex, Suffolk

(Yes I know there are more than that too)

Mother Nature decreed earlier this year that due to the Covid lockdown the Lincolnshire storm magnet will be placed on the Isle of Man as it's a lot harder for storm chasers to drive there and congregate at short notice

Any estimates on timings for us in the NW? i'm thinking of heading out in the car to a few vantage points around Macc/Buxton but I haven't been able to get a rough estimate of when anything is due to initiate for this evening.

You wait - there'll be one popcorn storm somewhere south of London and all we'll hear is "look at the south hogging all the storms again".

This is good news, and visual sat shows clear development now

That would be a perfect initiation as it will all head this way

Hey everyone! I’ve been following this thread all day whilst getting significantly hotter by the hour! Temps built to 30 here in south notts but we still have sunshine and little cloud cover although it’s become much more muggy and humid now. Any idea of what I can expect this evening and overnight by way of storms?

Just a bit of drizzle on the NW Radar, although if convection is forecast to be explosive then it could already be towering and firing off sferics with evaporation rain not quite making it to the surface just yet. EDIT - and there it is
