I know everything's a supercell to us overexcitable storm nerds, so let me be the first.

I see a cheeky hook echo, and it seems to have broken off from the NNW flow to NNE.

A storm spotter report from the ground (my Mum) say it's the biggest storm she's seen in years. What do we think?

Well it is not far from Llandudno

That storm just west of Lanrwst has defo had a more easterly movement to it compared to everything else in wales today... its going mad still after several hours.

Looks like precipitation is building east back towards the north west Midlands now. If you draw a line from what's left of the Cambridge storm to the Shropshire/Wales storms...that where there could be furter development as it continues north. Already showing signs of 'filling' the gap...if that makes sense?

I'm guessing a bit to be honest!

And it looks to be barreling straight towards Penmaenmawr. Now if only that camera would just stay still and point North West.

Looks like a couple of showers bubbling up in the channel, fingers crossed for the south coast seeing some action

Keeping an eye on this area at the moment, could produce something later this evening for southern areas. Apart from that nothing really to shout about for the Southern half of the country yet.

I agree with this statement, lovely cool breeze here in Shropshire now!

In a pub. The checklist seems to be nearly complete at the moment:

• 31°c ✅

• Cold beer ✅

• Decent internet ✅

• Crisps ✅

• Electrical point ✅

• Crowded House ✅

• Air con ✅

• Routes from here in every direction ✅

• Lots of places nearby to see the sky ✅

• An actual thunderstorm ❌

Make the most of it I guess! I haven't left and at present I'm not gonna. I nearly left at 4pm but the Cambridge cell didn't look that promising so think I'll stay home. A shame because I packed all my stuff together but it is what it is. Maybe in an hour or two things will get going and you'll be sorted and I'll be full of regrets haha

Looking poor for S.E, perhaps wednesday will bring better chances

It's not looking bad if the AROME is to be believed.

There's a bit of activity in the channel and over France heading towards the south coast.

It’s all hedging of bets, basically. I have enough admin and stuff to do to keep occupied, but I wanted to get northwards of any likely initiation zones for the really juicy stuff. Now I’m here I can relax. So hot sitting in the van, and driving about is kind of pointless until I know where to head...

From here it’s approx 2 hrs back down south which is great if there’s a surprise import in store for later, in the meantime it’s just a case of keeping an eye on the radar and working out where to go for my govt discount dinner

Some cells popping up in Northern France now. Lively one to the West of Rennes in NW France. Strikes from that. Worth keeping an eye on.

Can't see where the Met Offices storm threat between 6 and 7pm is going to materialise from, hazy sun and small lumps of cloud floating around for all the eyes can see. Temp at its highest point all day - 28.2C.

A friend in this area just messaged me to say they’d seen marble sized hail
