The sun has finally started to re-emerge here in Solihull, after an hour or so of being hidden behind the milky haze.

The temperature has started to shoot up once again - currently 29.8°C and still climbing.

Watching this line forming in France, moving Northwards.

Yep there's where my bets would be for south coast action. Unfortunately will pile in east of the IOW as steering flow @700mb is straight south to north. To be honest the first day of anticipated convective let down is already effectively complete here. Just a couple more days to go.

There’s some very powerful lightning and explosive thunder coming your way.  And it feels warmer now than it was before the storm hit.

Wow can’t wait!!! Hope this is just the starter as well. Skies are very milky here now with a lot of ac cas around. Humidity is unbearable

Think I can see that to my north, here in south Bucks. It's HUGE!!!!! Explosive convection. Right, as always, lastminute.com - I'm setting off for Cannock in a minute. We'll see what happens.

Cambridge one looks like it's splitting into two separate cores????

That Cambridge one does seem to be on it's own somewhat. Proof that any of us on here could get something this week.

The sky to my west has brightened up a bit now, it had been quite dark that way, so it must be moving slowly north. So difficult to see what's going on up there!

Can see the very top of the Cambridge cell from here - very impressive. Shame it’s not dark otherwise would see illuminations. It is otherwise a baking hot 34C here under largely stable skies - small bit of Ac wafting in from the E/SE

Has that storm in west Wales been moving east?

Just looking at the weather radar and it does appear that way to me.

No, west if anything. It has however been generating storms further east and the bottom end of it now approaching Poole is much further east and moving north.

All in all not sure what i might get up here but an entertaining afternoon.
