Storms and Convective discussion- 7th August onwards

Showers look like they may already be about to break out almost anywhere, showers popping up near Basingstoke, lots of activity in the SW, southern Wales and looks like a line of elevated storms starting pop up near the Channel Islands.

Say now on the south coast of Gower in Swansea and can see the storms out at sea. Also when returning back to my house I can see the storms north of Swansea. They are all very distant though. Also as you can see by the picture the sea mist has basically lifted and the temperature now at a solid 20c in the sun. Things beginning to look better for us

Boom! Explosive development and lightning over S Wales, assuming this is the forecasted elevated convection?

if the Midlands get into the low 30s then storms should ignite

it's kicked off around here, real loud thunder, just as the rain started. Storms popping off all around Devon, off the coast, towards Irish Sea and South Wales]

Lightning all around, and the air is humid as heck

Heard a few distant rumbles when I woke up but all going to plan apart from that, i.e passing by me and also developing after me, which was kind of what the forecast models showed to be fair.

Had loads of Ac Cas though and a decaying anvil to the west and overhead, can now see the distant CB of the NW Dartmoor storm.

This highlights how uncertain things are this week. Spot the difference :oldlaugh:

Looks like a nice system coming up across the channel then tonight if it doesn’t change again

That's UKV with the one tiny shower that pops around 10 am but nothing seems to be even close there at the moment. It's very unlikely.

Morning all. Some good structure looking North on the Reading cell at the moment. Half an hour ago that was a small cumulus line.

Rumble heard in Kingsbridge! Lovely little storm developed off the coast to the SE of here. Lots of people camping down here at the moment, will certainly be fun for them...

Envious of you guys in the SW. Any pics or vids? Enjoy the anvils coming through thus far.
