I thought I could here some thunder and there is activity but a bit far away, the sounds may have been something else. Getting closer though. This cam looks east into North Lyme Bay so something may pop up on there.

For reference by the way, the purple line in those is the 12 mile fisheries UK waters border so those strikes are less than 10 miles out to sea so should have been well audible from the shore

Certainly seems to line-up well with the UKV, so as good a chance as any that you'll be correct.

@MAXcrazystorm thank you for the optimism for the SE corner but you really shouldn’t have...you can remind me of this comment if you’re on the money

I'm in CS England  slap between the M4 and M40. I'll be sweating in 35c brewing these storms for you guys further north, as ever! Im happy to watch frequent lightning from a safe distance,  and I'll take some of that rain, but much as I love a good storm, am happy to export tornadoes and huge hail!

There just looks like a few cells might move up through the channel overnight tonight , its generally a higher risk than elsewhere in the LOW risk area.

This low cloud needs to shift if we got any chance of 30

Its so frustrating!!the day the north sea is and east of england is clear of low cloud we somehow manage to build our own patch of low cloud slap bang in the middle of the midlands!!

Can any of the experts give me some idea of the chances in Swansea Today. We have a small bit of sea mist that’s starting to burn off.

I am somewhat doubtful about that, its still quite chilly here in the Birmingham area with a good amount of cloud cover still, I am wondering if we will get to the all important temp to trigger the storms.

If storms don't ignite in the Midlands then its likely storms will ignite across northern and central Wales, as well as the Lancashire area.

Yeh took a bit longer here in leicester!!cleared by 12.30 and still managed 25 degrees so hopefully if it clears by 10pm then a 30 degree temperature is not out of question!!

Based upon the latest runs, if I chase today, I’ll have a slow trundle across the midlands I think. But it’s so nowcasty, knowing my luck, stuff would pop off out of the blue back at home!

I do love days like these where it’s a matter of where the first bubble will rise in a loaded gun scenario. Looking to be a potentially special few days for a fair few. About time too!

If this cloud over the Midlands goes in the next hour, there is a chance we may reach 30c but any longer than that I think we might struggle

(seems to be showing signs of breaking up already)

The Ac Cas around here has built-up and clumped together enough to be producing a shower just to my west. Not sure if any precip. is reaching the ground, but this area (you can see them clearly on Sat.) is likely one to watch as it moves NW'wards this morning.
