i’m not sure what to think about tonight.; if it’s still worth staying up. WRF is still not breaking out any precipat my location but it still shows a great deal of CAPE and instability. Met are quite bullish about something happening tonight but Liverpool airport says rain showers from 3 am but no mention of thunder.

Slight downgrade on WRF of level of CAPE for next few days but that only means it’s around 1700 rather than 2100.

Hi paul

what are your thoughts regarding wales and western britain for tonight and the coming days?

Cheers

Rob

I think you will defo see some action tomorrow morning from 6am onwards but for the real surface based storms you need to start in the SW Midlands area from say Bromsgrove to Gloucester etc and move north with it

Its looking good for where I am and it'll be the first proper test of the pumps down at Toddbrook Res if those rainfall rates come to fruition.

why does the south east suck for storms now ,,,, always the midlands get the storms nowhere elseeeee

Ironically because it's such a slow breakdown. If it were a short more progressive affair vorcity would push east for you.

Storm has popped out of nowhere near Berck in N France and is travelling NW... looks like anyone living on the south coast might get a distant light show.

Should definitely get a glimpse of that if you're Eastbourne eastwards.

Seems completely stationary, can't see it making it very far into channel at that speed!

Pretty incredible what's happening around Berck , that's what we want to happen here. I'm sure people in the SE can already see flickers in the sky from that storm! any cameras ?

So tomorrow (almost) = elevated clag for the AM in Wales and kaboom for the PM in Midlands / NW.

Any rough ideas for Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday?

Should a person of the Southeast stay put and be patient?

Just for the storm over Berck
Take a look at the cloud progression, that particular storm doesn't look like it will move West very much, but gradually track NE ,

On the other hand, that same storm is in a forming mass of cloud which does extend far enough West to hit the South East ... but can a storm develop over the Ocean.. or when the mass of cloud hits the South Coast?
